This is the PACC Racing 1975 Chevrolet Monza. To begin, let's start with the history of the Chevy Monza. The Monza was originally intended to be GM's version of the rotary engine poweres vehicle. However GM could not make it work, so the threw a V8 into it, so that it would sell. In order to do this they had to modify the standard oil pan, along with the transmission bell housing. Because of this late change in design, there are a variety of last minute braces so the car would not fall apart with the much more powerful V8 in it. They offered as large as a 350 cubic inch engine, and 3, 4,or 5 speed manual transmissions, or a 3 speed automatic.
Our Monza was outfitted with a 262 V8, a 4 speed manual transmission, and still has the original engine and tranny in it. We believe that the engine has been apart before and is in excellent condition. We plan to offset grind the crankshaft in order to make the cubic inch smaller for class restrictions in land speed racing. One day we hope to take it to bonneville, but will be testing it and preparing it in Maxton, North Carolina, and Loring, Maine.
The doors have been partially gutted
Surprisingly the fuel pump worked when we got the car
